Six Sigma -Black Belt

Overview: Five modules comprising; ten days Face to face training course, Tutor email supported distance learning.  Tutor supported and guided Six Sigma Project spread over six months - Thirty days equivalent.  See 'The Six Sigma Package'

Black belts are central to the Six Sigma initiative, programmes and projects.  They are trained to work full-time on one or more of the identified key business objectives.  These could be based on cost, time, support, quality, etc.  Usually they would be expected to have completed four to six projects per year, which would be focused on the established key business objectives.  The projects under normal circumstances would be expected to generate savings in the region of £150,000 per project.  It may now be possible to see why Black belts are in such demand, particularly if they can regularly and consistently achieve such savings.  Black belts would be trained and skilled in; roles and responsibilities for Six Sigma, advanced application methodology, various tools and techniques, business process analysis, project and team management and lean.

As a consequence of this Black belt course the delegate would be expected to be a fully qualified agent of change, capable of coordinating and managing significant business improvement projects and driving change throughout the organisation’s systems and processes.

Ten-days (Tutor supported) - Private Study:

A pre-course study programme prior to joining the course is provided consisting of a textbook and workbook.  This pre-course programme includes simple exercises to check delegate's understanding and progress.  Supported by email tutor guidance.
